There are two types of car driving licenses:

Automatic LMV Driving License:

Automatic vehicles can be driven by LMV-automatic and Manual driving license holders.

Manual LMV Driving License:

Manual vehicles can be driven by LMV-Manual driving license holders only.

To apply for a Light Motor Vehicle or Car driving license, your age must be 17 years and 6 months. You can get your driving license once you reach 18 years old.

Types of Car Driving Lessons

Light Motor Vehicle License – Beginner (No car driving license from home country or with home country car license valid for less than 2 years)

Light Motor Vehicle License – Intermediate (With your driving license from your home country valid for more than 2 years and less than 5 years)

Light Motor Vehicle License – Expert (With home country car driving license valid for more than 5 years)

GCC – Holding valid GCC car driving license

Pilot and Cabin Crew – Employees from Emirates Airlines and Fly Dubai with valid car driving license

People of Determination

Others – For drivers who already have a valid UAE Car Driving license and want to apply for different categories

Course Registration: Documents required for car driving license

Original Emirates ID

Eye Test (from Bin Yaber Driving Institute (Head Office) or from any other RTA Authorized Optical Shop)

Original and valid UAE/home country or other country licenses. Translated/attested if required.


Car Driving Course – Training Details

A. Regular

The students can attend regular classes only in daytime from Monday to Saturday.

1. Can take a maximum of 6 hours per week, a minimum of 3 alternative days per week

2. Minimum 1 hour and maximum 2 hours per Day

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday (2 hours per Day)

• Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday (2 hours per Day)

• Monday to Saturday (1 Hour Daily)

B. Shifting:

The student can attend classes as per their convenient time and day (as per Regular, Holiday, Night options).

1. Can take a maximum of 10 hours per week
2. Minimum 1 hour and maximum 2 hours per day

C. Holiday

The student who can attend classes Only on Sunday.

1. Can take 2 hours (if beginner) and Maximum 4 hours per week

2. Minimum 1 hour and maximum 2 hours per day

D. Night

The student who can attend classes Only in the Night from Monday to Saturday.

1. Maximum 6 hours per week

2. Minimum 1 hour and maximum 2 hours per Night

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday (2 hours per Night)

• Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday (2 hours per Night)

• Monday to Saturday (1 Hour Daily)

Other than these, we have various arrangements for corporate accounts and VIP students.

Car License Training Special Requirement

Residents with visas issued in the other emirates
  • Copy of the tenancy agreement approved by ejari or copy of the Title Deed as a proof of residence
  • Copy of the company's trade licence (Dubai branch and the branch that issued the residency)
  • Letter from the company certifying that the customer works in Dubai
  • An official document proving that you are currently a student in Dubai.
Emirati passport holder who is without a family book (Marsoom holders)
  • Copy of the valid passport
  • Copy of the valid Marsoom

Copy of the certificate of transfer to the doctor issued by the Licensing Agency

Car Driving – Theory Lectures

Theory lectures are designed to mentally prepare the student for driving safely on the UAE roads. This is an important part of the whole process on the issuance of the driving license. The lectures are conducted in the Head Office Lecture Hall, or you can avail of this service online through our E-Learning portal.
